The Pagan figurine range

I've always had an interest in the outdoors, liking nothing more than a walk in the woods or to take my didgeridoo up a hill and play. More recently, especially in these times of global warming and industrialisation, computers and consumerism, I've looked more and more to the natural world for some answers to what was missing in this world around me. I began to learn about trees, animals and plants, feed the birds (my friend Trev would love that one!) learn about ancient alphabets such as Ogham and ancient religions such as Druidry and Wicca to name a couple. Gradually a whole new world opened out before me filled with myth, magic and legends, a world that was probably second nature to our ancestors, but is largely forgotten or ignored in this hectic modern world of ours.

From the understandings I've gained I felt I was able to sculpt my representation of The Earth Goddess and The Horned God. There are a lot of figurines and other items to be added to this range in the future, I already have two part sculpted on my workbench at the moment so please do keep checking back.

The Horned God

The Horned God

This figurine is a favourite of mine. He definitely has a presence about him and he was one of those pieces of work that really flowed. I didn't have to keep walking away and thinking about how to do the next stage as I do so very often when I'm working on something (my studio is filled with half finished projects awaiting the next bit of inspiration!) I finished sculpting him on Samhain (Halloween) in 2004.

He has a very natural look to him, reminiscent of a woodland walk. He is finished in greens and browns and bronzes. A lovely piece.

Size: 13 inches overall height

Price: £49.95

Earth Goddess

This figurine was made after many requests as a consort for the Horned God. I wanted to make her similar but with a more feminine feel so rather than the rough textures of the Horned God I went for spiral patters inspired by the stones on the burial mounds at Knowth and Newgrange (wonderful places and well worth a visit). She took longer to create, as this time I had to work with the Horned God to compliment him and I wanted to capture the beauty of nature in her features. I think she turned out fine in the end though. She was started on the Spring Equinox 2005 and finally finished Autumn Equinox 2005. She is also finished in greens and browns and bronzes.

Pagan pewter jewellery

All my jewellery is now cast in pewter by myself. Scary stuff working with molten pewter (300 degrees means much protection!) So far I make pendants, these include: a hare, two different Horned Gods, a Moon Goddess, an Earth Goddess, a Dragon, and a Spiral. See pictures for more information.
